Resident Evil Requiem [Switch 2]

I bought it on release along with 7 and Village and finally managed to finish Requiem this week. I want to record my thoughts at some point so full breakdown will be incoming but to put it briefly, I had a wonderful time with the game. I thought I’d try and be a badman and play on Classic and I really think that is the way to go on your first playthrough. It heightens the tension for the Grace section, where you have to be as measured as possible, which each resource becoming increasingly more precious as you progress in the Medical Center.

I did have some gripes with the Leon sections early on where pacing felt very off. I appreciate the attempt of contrasting his action orientated moments with the scary-wary sections of Grace but I felt the first few Leon moments were a little drab considering his firepower and stamina – it felt like I was playing the game with cheats on. This didn’t remain the case however, once you go to a certain place and the game opens up, I felt like I was trying to be a measured as possible, checking my corners and methodically plodding through just to make sure I don’t get munched up by a zombie because I was being careless.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game, I thought it looked great on Switch 2 and I’ll be running through the game until I get infinite ammo in order to Requiem everyone back to eternal sleep.
